AYURVEDIC MEDICINAL STEAM:-
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest whole-body healing systems. According to research, Ayurveda has the ability to regenerate cells and begin healing of some disorders merely by the way we treat our bodies. In this, there is a term called as swedana which is a treatment elaborated in Ayurvedic Medical Science. The word ‘sweda’ is derived from Sanskrit language which means to sweat or to perspire. So, the process called as swedana includes inducing of sweat with the help of steam, generated from medical herbal decoctions. Ayurvedic fomentation is usually given after an oil massage.
TYPES:-
There are different types of swedana which are:-
- 1) Bashpa Sweda:- The fomentation is performed by placing the subject in a room filled with steam from a boiling herbal infusion.
- 2) Naadi sweda:- Naadi Sweda penetrates the heat. Bashpa Sweda is a more penetrating sort of wet heat. This is applied to the entire body via a tube; emphasis is placed on thick and intricate joint structures.
