Bell’s palsy Treatment :-

Bell’s palsy is basically known as “ acute facial palsy of unknown cause”. It is a condition where one sideof your face becomes weak or paralyzed. It only affects one side of the face which can cause it to stiff from one side. This type of paralysis can happen to anyone due to some kind of trauma to the facial nerve. It is generally found in diabetic patients or those who have viral infections.

Treatment:

Treatment options for Bell’s palsy include:
  • corticosteroids, such as prednisolone
  • eye drops and ointment to manage dry eye
  • surgical tape to keep the eye closed at night
  • antiviral medication

Steroids

Oral steroid therapy administered over a 10-day period can lessen inflammation and increase the likelihood that the face injury will heal completely. However, because they can have negative consequences, steroids might not be appropriate for everyone. Currently, trials are being conducted to see whether they are helpful for kids with Bell's palsy.

Exercises:-

Following a physical therapist's recommendations for workouts that are appropriate for each stage of recovery is crucial. But here's an example of an exercise schedule: Consciously try relaxing the side of your face that is unaffected to get ready. Gently move your hand up towards your cheekbone on the affected side. Massage the affected region as you go. With the aid of your index or middle finger, raise the brow on the side that is bothersome. Use a finger to help you slowly close the eye on the same side. Gently move the side of the lips towards the middle with the aid of one finger. Once more, gently draw the mouth into a smile with one finger. Four or five times every day, practise for two to three minutes.
