Wrist drop by Sanyukt Chikitsa and Ayurvedic Neuro therapy :-
What is a wrist drop?
A person who experiences wrist drop, or the inability to lift the wrist after resting it over a table, is said to have radial nerve palsy. Let your hand lie limp where the fingers point downward, for instance, if you are holding it parallel to the ground and facing the ceiling. A person with a wrist drop is unable to raise their hand up so that the fingers are facing up. The following activities are carried out by the radial nerves, which run along the underside of the arm:
- controlling the triceps muscle's movement at the back of the upper arm
- extending the fingers and wrist
- controlling sensation
Treatment
The underlying reason of a wrist drop affects how it should be treated. In other circumstances, the wrist drop may only be momentary and disappear once the underlying problem has been addressed. Most of the time, conservative treatment is effective in correcting wrist drop.
